Psalms Day 2-5 Better than Netflix

It’s David’s fist official day on the run.  The beginning of his new life. There are some crazy actions ahead... literally.  Why hasn’t Netflix picked up in this?  David’s story is so much more captivating than the stuff people try to make up!

Read 1 Samuel 21:1-15.

What parts of this surprise you?

Why do you think David acted insane?

Did you notice any foreshadowing in this chapter of trouble to come?

So this is when the episode breaks off and the credits roll until next week... something big is about to happen.

Two Psalms are credited as written by David during this experience: Psalms 34 and 56.

I am spending this weekend break studying these 2 Psalms and meditating on them.  David’s words are raw and real. I may not be encircled by a physical army ready to kill me, but I can fill in the blanks with a deep oppression from the enemy who is attacking and seeking to destroy.  The devil seeks to destroy the chosen ones of the king.  He is relentless.  I don’t want to spoil it for you, but I think you already know who wins.  I pray you’ll read these Psalms and personalize them.  They are our weapons against the attack!

“I shall not be afraid...” Psalm 56:4

Lord, help us believe and wait with anticipation and trust for your deliverance!  We will bless you at all times!
